Has anyone used one of these full face snorkels? I'm tempted but don't want to waste my money, they're about £20-25 on Amazon

We got ours from decathlon, they are brilliant but not great for diving deep. Dc, 7 and 9 spend hours floating around in the sea and rivers with them. Get one!

Decathlon ones are fab but my head is too small for them! Really annoying but if they fit I'd say worth the money for sure

billybagpuss · 22/07/2019 20:57

What do you need it for?

We bought similar to this

www.amazon.co.uk/Zoggs-Reef-Explorer-Snorkel-Adult/dp/B004OXYQ36/ref=sr_1_8?s=gateway&crid=R0EJC2EZ2WRD&keywords=snorkeling+mask&sprefix=snorkeling+mask%2Caps%2C173&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1563825081&sr=8-8

for a holiday a couple of years ago and it was excellent quality, I've been using them again recently as I've started scuba diving and the mask is ok, but is a snorkel mask so I have to keep clearing it and wouldn't want to use at depth, but the snorkel is really good quality.

I don't think I'd want to us a full face mask on holiday, as it would make talking to each other difficult.

We had them recently for a snorkeling holiday, definitely recommend it. You can also get lens to fit inside them if you need glasses. Cant recommend them enough. Do you have a declathon close by where you can try them on?

Stillpotteringabout · 22/07/2019 20:59

Sorry, just see everyone else has mentioned declathon too 🙈... I did read the thread, just not very well. Sorry!

IrnBruAndTwiglets · 22/07/2019 21:02

I got ours from Decathlon too and they're fab for snorkelling. Well worth the money, we looked a bit like power rangers but was just so much easier to breathe than using a regular mask.

user1494670108 · 22/07/2019 21:40

Thanks all, I'll pop to decathlon and see if I can try one on.
I love snorkelling but hate getting the salt water in my Mouth

We used them on our holiday recently. From Decathlon. Can't recommend them highly enough. You can fix a GoPro on to them too.

piefacedClique · 22/07/2019 21:50

Mine both have them.... age 8 and 4.... decathalon now do an Xs which is perfect for the little one.... they literally spend hours in them

BayandBlonde · 22/07/2019 21:51

They are fine if you stay on the surface.

Useless if you free dive or scuba

user1494670108 · 22/07/2019 22:08

I'm not brave enough to go under so that won't be a problem Smile

We got one when we were on holiday last year, it was the best thing we bought. The dc loved it, it took a bit of getting used to, but was excellent for floating round and watching the fishes.
