How soon did you know your partner was the one for you?

For dh and I, we were friends first and knew a lot about each other, so when we went from friends to partners it was a pretty quick transition with no awkwardness, just that feeling of happiness and we both got the vibe early on that we were not just dating but it was something more important than that, in fact I think we only had 2 dates before we became serious about each other

I knew before we even got together. He was my best friend and when I realised I fancied him I knew he would be my forever. I remember early on saying that I was annoyed we’d only been together 2 months because people wouldn’t take us seriously, and I knew we were end game.

6 years later we are married, assuming people take us seriously now

I met DH two summers in a row volunteering at a hobby we share. After an hour's walk, just chatting, I knew I wanted to be with him. Then I left not knowing if I'd see him again or how I felt. And I was engaged to someone else.

The following year I split up with fiancé and we got together. He's awesome.

It took being friends for eight years and being together about three months. In the end due to a mix of our careers and personal commitments we had to end our relationship, I genuinely worry I won’t feel that for anyone again.
