I tried the OTC version, which I believe is half the strength of the prescription one. I didn't have a great experience - to put it bluntly, oily orange stuff kept dribbling uncontrollably out of my bum, even though I was eating a low-fat diet as recommended. I didn't lose weight any more quickly than I had been doing on the low fat diet.

I tried this on prescription a few years ago (it was called Xenical). I only used it for a a couple of weeks,as like the previous poster,it caused unpleasant leakage from my bum! It got to the point where I was afraid to go out in case I urgently needed the toilet. It also gave me constant griping pains in my stomach. I DID lose about 5 lbs over the 2 weeks I took it,but this was probably due to being on a low fat diet,as much as the effect of the tablets.

I worked with a woman who was taking it. She lasted 2 weeks, and also suffered the unpleasant leaking. You could smell it constantly tooEnvy not envy! Sorry OP, possibly not what you wanted to hear. I’d book a week off work and try it then if I were you.

A 'night time' sanitary towel is the best way to cope with the leakage but be prepared to change it often. I really didn't think it was worth it; I didn't seem to lose weight any more quickly than by just dieting - although possibly the leaking puts some people off their food, so it might work better for them Grin.
