Feeling intimated by neighbour?

So neighbour has 8 students living in her coach house. They are very noisy, loud music, throw rubbish over the wall etc.

I contacted her by email to address this. She got very nasty, said that I’m hated by everyone and she’s going to make a file on me.

A year later I put in a further noise complaint, I walked to the end of my road (good 5 minute walk) and could still hear their music.

I’ve then had another threatening email to say she’s going to make sure that if my property sells then she will personally make sure the sale price is impacted.

I ignored.

Then 3 days later my for sale sign gets damaged.

Just feel like shit, I put in a genuine noise complaint. I and others around me have the right to quiet enjoyment in their own homes.

Who to?

You need to complain to environmental health. I would also contact the university to complain about their students

Sorry the council.

So I did try and follow the correct procedure.

Usually they encourage you to speak to one another and then if that doesn’t work to put in an official noise complaint with the council.

Can you report her to the police for her threatening behaviour? As you said yourself, you do have a right to peace and quiet and yet when you made a complaint about the noise levels, she threatened you.

Stop complaining and just move. Now you'll have to declare this to potential buyers.

I’m trying to move but sadly I’m not getting offers. So I’m stuck.
