What size washing machine do you have?

Currently have a 7kg machine that’s on its way out. We use it at least once a day, if not 2-3 times at weekends. There’s 3 of us (2 adults + toddler) and I’m currently pregnant with DC2.

I would like a bigger machine, say 9-10kg, but can’t work out if the 10kg is worth the extra cost. For a LG machine I’ve been looking at the 9kg is £679 whereas the 10.5kg is £799.

We also have a kingsize bed but I doubt we’d be able to fit a kingsize duvet in even the 10kg so I suppose it’s not worth it for that.

It’s bad for the machine if you overfill it and it’s more economical to wash large loads on a cooler wash so go for a bigger drum.

We have a 13kg. There's 4 adults and a teen. It does all the bedding and blankets as well as sleeping bags.

@orangeshoebox I’ve asked myself a lot where all our washing comes from. DH only wears clothes once (except his work trousers which he’ll wear all week Hmm). DD’s clothes are also only worn once as are her pjs as they get messy from food etc.

I only wash sheets & towels once a week though DD’s towels get washed after every bath as we don’t have anywhere to dry it.

It’s not as bad as when DD was newborn bf we’d go through countless changes and muslins from milk spit up!
