Has he ever seen the Original Indiana Jones movies, I loved them at around that age.

My DS loves The Labyrinth, Oliver and the original Mary Poppins... bit of nostalgia too

Princess Bride maybe? Some of the better Muppets films?

We recently watched LOTR with DS 7, he loved them. We went for the shorter versions rather than the extended tho.

We watched the first back to the future with our ds yesterday. He bloody loved it!

Star Wars! My DH can still remember the day he saw the first (but obvs not the first now) one in the 70s. DSs have seen them all and loved them.

Chitty chitty bang bang, Charlie and choc factory and all the old classics.

At that age my DS loved Indiana Jones. National Treasure has a similar vibe. Also loved Bedtime Stories, Night at the Museum, The Goonies, Back to the Future, ET, Mrs Doubtfire. Actually he loved that so we watched a load of other Robin Williams movies. Then there's Star Wars and Harry Potter, the first ones are probably ok for age 8.

My DS loved jumanji, Harry Potter movies and The Croods.

If you can find it - very topical - The Dish. It's about the moon transmission.
