We have stone in our kitchen, a bit of old lino and the rest is LVT.

The cleaners came yesterday. Already my feet are coloured from the floor Envy

I use a string mop. Warm/hot water and fairy washing up liquid usually in lemon. I find it better than any floor cleaner.

In between warm/hot wash I have another mop that I just use cold water and zoflora, all sorts of fragrances but my favourite is rose..

Shark steam mop. Wouldn't be without it.

I'm nervous of using anything like Zoflora with DS around.

Could I use a steam mop on LVT?

Get a spray mop, they're brilliant.

Soola · 20/07/2019 14:53

Use dettol lavender if you don’t want to use zoflora

Soola · 20/07/2019 14:53

I should have said that I only do the additional disinfectant mopping because we have pets.

Aquamarine1029 · 20/07/2019 14:54

Yes, you can use a steam mop on LVT. No chemicals, no mess, and the floor dries within seconds.

Hmmm.
I dont.think I can convince DH that its worth 170. But the pocket one is 70...

I've just looked them up and everywhere says not to use with LVT. Rats.

Spray mop it is!

If it's any consolation I have tried 2 steam mops and found them both rubbish and they just pushed the dirt around.

Soola · 20/07/2019 15:54

@LoafofSellotape I bought a steam mop and didn’t like it. I didn’t think it cleaned properly at all.

NeverGotMyPuppy · 20/07/2019 15:55

That's good to know! Thanks

I just use the micro fibre ones that Velcro on. One cloth per room, run cloth under a hot tap add a dash of any cleaner and wring out. Quickly mop room and pop cloths in wash. Only works if you mop frequently, if I haven’t done it for a while I get the mop and bucket out.

I hated my steam mop. Had to sweep then mop then sweep up the tide marks left by the mop. I have got my eye on a karcher hard floor cleaner.
