Bad or good idea to ask for feedback?

Applied for a job that I really wanted but my application was rejected.

I found the name of the recruiter online, would it be a bit forward to message her directly to ask for feedback or how I could get my application noticed?

(It’s a massive company so I wouldn’t really know how or who else to approach for feedback)

Do it. Worst they can say is no.

I don't see a problem at all with asking for feedback. It should help you know where you went wrong. My employer actively offers feedback esp to candidates they saw potential in. In case they ever plan to apply for a similar role within the company.

I've always known asking for feedback to be encouraged, and never frowned upon or laughed at. So yes, go ahead. It only shows you're looking to better yourself

Good feed back is invaluable in preparing/improving your cv and interview technique if you are able to recognise and act upon constructive criticism. You should find out about both your strengths and your weaknesses which will give you an advantage when next applying. Good luck op.
