Why can't I drink red wine anymore?

For a few years now my ability to tolerate red wine has decreased. I don't mean hangover, I mean immediately feeling ill after drinking a small glass (or often a few sips). Tonight I had one very small glass and I felt odd and then was sick immediately. It isn't alcohol in general as I often have one or two gin and tonics with no effects.

Weirdly, occasionally I manage to find a wine that doesn't have this effect. Anyone else developed an intolerance like this?

I was on a night out recently where there was a Gin bar. It was so busy. The conversation was the same, wine was a no-no as the headaches and hangover was awful and thankfully Gin was the saviour😄.
All women were late 40's and 50's.
Definitely linked to menopause I believe.

In my case I was able to switch to white wine and can enjoy 2 glasses of red without many problems.

For a while a glass of red wine would bring me out in a major hot flush which wasn't pleasant.

same for me, cannot touch wine these days, 1 glass would have me reeling now, I can drink champagne, not that I often do but if I have a glass or two at a celebration I'm fine. Still wine absolutely no chance

I’m the same, however I’m on holiday in Greece at the moment and can tolerate the local wines very well! Not a hint of a headache!
