Penpal

Dd (8) has got very interested in letter writing, and has requested a book of stamps for her good-report ‘prize’ - alas we have realised she has nobody to write to!

If anyone has a similar aged dd that would be interested, she would love to become pen pals! Or if anyone knows of a site that matches kids with others maybe in different parts of the country?

We are plonked in the middle of the midlands so anywhere is a bit different for us Grin we’re a pretty normal, boring, nuclear family- entirely uninteresting... Dd is into unicorns, rainbows, chocolate, Lego and Roblox (that’s my girl!)

Ah I remember the excitement of having a Belgian penpal when I was 11/12. We would send letters, photos, postcards. Sad when it fizzled out. The school organised it.

My dd made a friend on holiday when she was 6 and they wrote letters for a while. It's all done through insta now Wink

I hope you find someone for her.

Ha, yes Insta- maybe I should just get her signed up on there! I remember finding a penpal in the back of magazines, data protection would be shocked!

Hello. I have an 8 yr d DD. She could be interested in having a penpal (although she's a contrary thing so will have to ask her). We're in London.

Just asked her and she said yes! PM me if you'd like.
