I just watched the trailer for the film version of Cats

Les Mis worked as a film. That was a good move.

I haven't actually seen Cats on stage but I think I could cope with human cats in a theatre. On screen it just looks weird.

Anyone else seen it?

Jennifer Hudson really does not sing Memory well at all. I saw Nicole Sherzinger in the stage version and her voice was brilliant. She actually got a standing ovation at the end of the song

J hud sounds like memory is one step too far for her.

Yes though, Taylor Swift does look awesome as a cat, but then actually... she's already very cat like.

Literally nothing to like

I think it looks intriguing but the cats are FAR TOO SMALL.

I'm probably going to get massively disagreed with for this but I hated Jennifer Hudson's version of Memory. Too loud and 'big finish' for the old lady-cat to be singing - like Susan Boyle's triumphant ending to the tragic song that I Dreamed A Dream was meant to be.

I'm not a fan of musicals, nor od Elaine Paige or ALW, but I loved Memory and it's always made me cry because it's so touching and sad. Not because it's strident and horrible to listen to.

It's a bit too close to those weirdos whose fetish is dressing up as cats/dogs. Not for me.

Cordon, Rebel Wilson and Swift are all too young for their characters.

Hudson, too, and she/the director missed the point of the song. It's meant to be fragile, and yearning. Grizabella is a frail old cat.

I think the choreography will be fantastic, but the set is disproportionate.

Wrong. I have and I enjoyed the musical but this looks terrifying and terrible.

I cannot wait for Elaine Paige's passive aggressive digs at it on her radio show. Like she does whenever she plays someone else singing Don't Cry for me Argentina.

It's as weird as the actual show so no problems there but I'm a bit ffs about James Corden being in it. Wasn't sure about the show when I saw it way back in the 90's but there's some good songs.

I loved the Trailer and will go and see it I mean it has a Sir and a Dame in it . Jennifer Hudson looked like she did in dreamgirls signing memory ive already thought fluffy effie !

Can’t stand ALW musicals at the best of times, personally.

If 'Memory' was in the first act, I'd have left the theatre then. We went as a family, paid a small fortune, and when we came out we all said, what was that about?

@Paddington68 I much prefer Cats to Les Miserables. I hated that. I know the clue is in the title but it is just too bloody miserable
