Rockwool find

Hi! Posting here in the hope of a marine biologist reading (or someone with excellent rockpooling knowledge).

Today whilst rockpooling on the south west coast, we found clusters of what appeared to be black grapes but weren't (because bunches of grapes tend not to turn up in rock pools)

They were like eggs, but in small bunches like a little bunch of black grapes but with tapered ends and they were extremely soft to the touch like caviar. The diameters of the egg like things were about 1cm.

We did not take a camera out with us so I do not have a photo and have had a fruitless internet search.

Does anyone have an idea of what these things could have been?

Identification will make a small child very happy 😃.

Many thanks

Re title though you were going to amaze us with a picture of cash from your attic. Small used notes ... possible bank job !

SophiaLarsen · 19/07/2019 09:14

I wish! My attic in our new house was disappointingly empty (and surprisingly clean actually).

Rockwool going up in our new walls as sound insulation from neighbour though Grin

I was hoping it would be someone with a cure for the murderous itching I get when ever I touch the stuff.

TheGrapefulDread · 19/07/2019 17:49

@SamBeckett have you tried taking anti histamine before you handle it ? And wearing washing up gloves tucked into long sleeved t shirt helps.

SamBeckett · 20/07/2019 10:01

@TheGrapefulDread
antihis' before handling it is a good call , hopefully I wont have to handle it again anytime soon but last year during the heat wave me and DB were insulating a friends loft for them , confined space , stiffing heat and dusty and itching arms legs and face made for two long hard days , Sad
