My husband ate a sweet he found in our daughter's car. He feels extremely disorientated and unwell now. It m ay not be linked at all, but we have suddenly thought could the sweet have actually been a drug? Totally shocked, praying it isn't. Does anyone recognise these? Thanks so much.

Anyone actually find out what they are?

K1ssIt · 19/07/2019 17:08

As I said earlier OP, if you husband was driving while supposedly high he is very. What are you doing lucky that it's just a funny story and he didn't crash or get pulled by the police.

We tell toddlers not to eat things they find that look like sweets in their mouth because they might not be sweets.

You said they were wrapped in a bit of tissue? Now you're saying they were in a paper bag? Either way they weren't his, and he was daft to eat them.

As you've learnt, your dd isn't the only one who uses her own glove box, her father does and it's possible her friends to do. If they were things to be shared they wouldn't be put in the glove box.

Having sweets in paper bags isn't odd if you use the old fashioned type places where they weigh them out. It's the going in a glove box, seeing a piece of tissue wrapped up, opening it and eating it that's odd.

FWIW even if it wrrr a bag of loose sweets I'd still not touch them, people don't tend to wash their hands while driving and I've witnessed fil "adjust" himself, or scratch the inside of his ears and probably scratch/pick the inside of his nose before reaching in for a winter warmer. For that reason alone I'd not eat one, even if I though I was gonna get a free high.

Google dr strangelove it's a cbd and cannabis food wholesaler, all totally legal in the uk and some people have effects from it.

StCharlotte · 19/07/2019 17:14

what a shame the op doesn't have a sense of humour

Ooh that's a point DoYouNeedAWee - is the DH laughing his tits off (at nothing)? Nope? Not weed then.

Hazardtired · 19/07/2019 17:18

This thread has made me sad for two reasons

  1. I have no idea what crack tastes like or MDMA and thus feel overly prim and proper
  1. I would totally eat random sweets in glove boxes and I'm feeling second hand sweet shamed. WHO DOESN'T EAT SWEETS WHEN THEY SEE SWEETS? Who doesn't internally squeal ooo sweeties when they unexpectedly stumble across some? Is there no joy in anyone's heart's anymore? Is it because you've all been licking crack?
HeadintheiClouds · 19/07/2019 17:21

Op’s dh didn’t see sweets, he saw a strange unrecognisable substance that he stuffed into his mouth in the hope that they might be sweets

Hidingwhoiam · 19/07/2019 17:24

@Hazardtired so if you looked in someone else glove box, saw what might look a bit like sweets wrapped in tissue, no idea exactly what they are or how long they have been there, you would eat them?

We tell kids not to eat things that look like sweets because they arenr always sweets.

CallmeBadJanet · 19/07/2019 17:27

What was it? Now I have to know! Was he ok?

Hazardtired · 19/07/2019 17:28

How am I gonna find out they aren't sweets till I try one? I am not missing out on sweets never mind free sweets.

Hazardtired · 19/07/2019 17:31
  • forgot to add I lick first then chew. I don't just chomp right in haphazardly to random sweets.. I do have some self control.
Tigger447 · 19/07/2019 17:33

That looks like crack to me

Mumof5x · 19/07/2019 17:34

Trust me if that big rock was crack or mdma he would no definately no about it by now. Serious question but does he always just pick up food he finds lying around random and eat it? He should really not! This whole story is insane to be honest

Hidingwhoiam · 19/07/2019 17:35

How am I gonna find out they aren't sweets till I try one? I am not missing out on sweets never mind free sweets.

And that's how you end up in a&e with friend or family explaining that you just lick anything going just incase it's a sweet. Grin

It’s MPA. MPA is flavoured with aniseed. It’s a studying drug that acts a bit like caffeine or Ritalin. Have Googled it for you......

“MPA is an off-white powder, slightly clumpy in appearance with a bitter taste. It has a recognisable smell described by some as a “slight odour of aniseed”.

How is it sold?

MPA is often sold as one of the ingredients in a wide range of branded products, among them: Ammo, Barry White, Blue Genie, Bomb, Bullet, Charlie Sheen, China White, Dragon, Dusk Till Dawn, Flake Red Eye, Fury, Fury Xtreme, Gogaine, Green Beans, Pink Panthers, Poke, Posh, Purple Bombs, RPM1P, Synthacaine and White MM.

The contents of these branded products can change and it is often unclear which compounds they contain.

Methods of use

MPA is typically sniffed or vaporised (heated and inhaled).

Effects/risks:

MPA is described by many users as being similar to drugs such as caffeine or methylphenidate (Ritalin) and users state that they find it helpful when studying or working late. MPA reportedly induces very little euphoria. Comedown effects are usually described as minimal compared to some other substances, with effects including tiredness, low mood, headaches and irritability.”

Micksee15 · 19/07/2019 17:35

this is bonkers, you're on mums not to ask about possible urgent issue and wint call your daughter???
you sure it's not yourself that's taken drugs??!

Ethicalbluey45 · 19/07/2019 17:36

if that had been my husband I would have seek medical assistance immediately because some drugs can cause heart failure not something you want waste time investigating

adviceseeker1975 · 19/07/2019 17:41

Surely that’s MDMA?! Can’t believe your husband would swallow something that wasn’t clearly a sweet from umm her glove compartment. Sorry. Xx

soberken · 19/07/2019 17:42

missmouse101 · 19/07/2019 17:43

Can't be arsed to read the whole thread after 2 pages of drug experts (can't believe there are so many on here Wink).

Did the OP reply? Is her husband dead? Has she met her daughter and was she prepared for the answer?

Some people are not that bright are they.

Mummyto2munchkins · 19/07/2019 17:44

Hope your talk goes OK tonight OP
And I hope your husbands better today! Flowers

missmouse101 · 19/07/2019 17:45
