My husband ate a sweet he found in our daughter's car. He feels extremely disorientated and unwell now. It m ay not be linked at all, but we have suddenly thought could the sweet have actually been a drug? Totally shocked, praying it isn't. Does anyone recognise these? Thanks so much.

I’d be gutted if I found drugs in my son’s car. I’d also have a sweet from his car if I found some in a bag, as he would from mine.

I think it's unwise to label your DD as 'taking drugs' when it could be a quite legal CBD-based product, tbh.

@Shockers yes if they were clearly packaged as sweets or you had eaten them before.

The ones the op’s husband ate didn’t really resemble normal confectionary.

OP, with respect, if you wish to avoid being questioned or called a troll, it's probably best not to suggest a few people making light of a questionable and dubious situation are terrible parents.
Especially at a time when your DD has had drugs in her car that could have made her Dad unwell, meaning NHS resources being wasted Hmm

Depending what time OP went it is highly possible he was seen fast , all you doubting Debbie's

My son had a seizure the other night and was taken in by Ambulance. Ok, that does get you seen quicker but , on the way to the toilets through the regular A&E waiting area were 4 people waiting so I believe the OP took him .

WhentheRabbitsWentWild no one said he wasnt triage quickly.

The issue is OP said the dd has form fornlying, so the didnt believe what she said they weren't

A doctor didnt even look at him. A nurse visually identified what they were, also seemed to know the dose in it and was confident enough he would be ok without having a doctor see him or keep him for observation, just incase.

No one can guarantee what does of active products are in there, by just looking at them.

So either the OP is misleading people, or the hospital was wholly negligent.

The fact that a child witha s seizure was seen straight away, isnt a comparable situation.

Thinking of you OP, how is your dh now? Were you able to have a full and honest conversation with your dd? Sounds like this has all been a big shock for you Flowers

Maybe the triage nurse realised the sweets were CBD sweets, ie (a) harmless, (b) legal, and (c) not actual drugs?

Maybe the triage nurse realised the sweets were CBD sweets, ie (a) harmless, (b) legal, and (c) not actual drugs?

But she dowsnt actually know that and the dh feeling poorly, is an usual reaction for CBD sweets. And the OP says her daughter has form for lying.

So again, the nurse was negligent or the OP is being a bit misleading

@missmouse101

Thanks for the update. I'm glad both DH is ok & your DD understands why you would be upset.

Once you had fully posted, and it was clear they weren't sweets, I completely agreed with you & would also be worried & upset.

Sorry some comments upset you & I'm glad you're ok now. 💐

I don’t get why some posters are saying they are cbd sweets and legal - op is saying they are weed sweets, not cbd, and in this country weed is illegal!

Anyone else spend too much time on "line eyes" threads and read cbd as 'clear blue digital'?

Perhaps I’m a terrible parent.

Though my children don’t have “form” for lying and don’t have drugs in the glove compartments of their cars...

Regardless of what it is you need to take him to A&E due to his symptoms.

Just tell them he ate something he thought was a sweet but is having adverse symptoms and you're worried it may be accidental poisoning.

If it is drugs he needs blood tests and antidote, if not, no harm done.

Why are you on MN asking this instead of a medical professional? Hmm

My final post on this. Husband is 52, daughter 18. We often drive her car, nothing abnormal there. We live in a rural small town which has an old fashioned sweet shop selling sweets in paper bags, which we buy sometimes. The photo shows a purple paper bag with a white sticker on to seal it. He drove her car, mainly to check it was ok before she came back, as it hadn't been driven for 3 weeks. Needed item from glove box, found sweet bag, fancied one and ate one. No thought for a second it wasn't sweets, why would he? Agree they look like pineapple chunk sweets

D had been to a camping party. They got stored in her glovebox. They are cannabis sweets. H is fine now, talk with D went ok. She is very upset and understands the seriousness of this and the implications of taking and driving about with illegal drugs

Pps who have called me miserable, batshit, a troll, a liar, a fanny of a woman, puritanical etc are simply trash and I pay them no attention. Anyone who thinks I am a dick regarding my being extremely concerned about finding drugs in my daughter's car, is not fit to be a parent themselves. Thanks so much to the lovely and helpful posters. You really helped when it first happened Smile

Excellent post OP.
Its not uncommon to dip into each others sweets here! Its difficult hanging on to them on our house/car!

There is nothing wrong or weird in grabbing a sweet from a glove box when you're taking car/frequently use a family member's car.

I dont get why drug use has been so normalised on here, its an unregulated market for a potentially highly dangerous substance. Anyone having a reaction should rightly worried about whats the substance is.

From the reactions here, very wisely, responses from cbd to crack and everything in between.

Those blaming OP, when shes done nothing wrong! Just what? Not everyone has drug knowledge and thankfully some of the population dont have drugs in their lives and are not experienced in the nature and effects of them.

Those of you drug taking you do you, and respect that others take a very different view. OP was scared and scouting about for others knowledge and experience.

Its good that these issues are raised, as there are also many lurkers and pp who are now aware of this.

Glad all are well, and that chat was constructive OP.
