My husband ate a sweet he found in our daughter's car. He feels extremely disorientated and unwell now. It m ay not be linked at all, but we have suddenly thought could the sweet have actually been a drug? Totally shocked, praying it isn't. Does anyone recognise these? Thanks so much.

Ha ha thequeen Grin

You forgot “I’m bloody boiling!”

Hidingwhoiam · 19/07/2019 09:08

I was triaged, seen by a doctor and on a ward within the hour last night (still fucking here 🙄), so it can happen.

So you ingested something that effects cant be quantified, was feeling ill. Not seen by a doctor and then discharged with no lengthy observation, just incase?

We are the kind of family who have sweets in paper bags in our cars, so he is not crazy.

Op, I'm afraid to tell you, you're the type of family that keep drugs in the car 😂😂😂

  1. Did you present exactly at the OPDH, or was it something else that took you in?
  1. You are still there, OPDH was sent home, with no observation.
  1. Nobody is suggesting people can't be triaged quickly.

No point squabbling about A&E. Like the timings don’t depend on the issue or how busy it is.

“Cubicle 11, he’s eaten something he found in a bag in his teenage daughter’s glovebox and feels funny.”
“Is he a Labrador? Send him home to sleep it off.”

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 19/07/2019 09:16

is he a labrador

Well the issue can very much dictate the time. If someone went to A&E feeling unwell because they had taken something unknown it's likely they would be kept in for more than about ten minutes.

OPDH was sleeping at 9:28pm and by 11:39pm they were home, all done and dusted and she was posting on Mumsnet.

I would suggest A&E didn't act correctly.

pictish · 19/07/2019 09:21

Okay. Thanks for telling us.

ChicCroissant · 19/07/2019 09:22

Possibly in tribute to this thread, a local supermarket's staff have all dressed in an 80's theme today, neon and hairbows abound. It was a bit of a surprise after the school run this morning, but I have not eaten anything out of my own glovebox or anyone else's.

Booboo66 · 19/07/2019 09:25

I think the short time at A&E was because dh was feeling better by that point and because they had by that point identified it was cannabis (or cbd it's not clear).

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 19/07/2019 09:32

We are the kind of family who have sweets in paper bags in our cars

And you’re also the kind of family who rummage through each other’s glove boxes and eat each other’s sweets without asking.

So why the hell would your daughter wrap up drugs to look like sweets in her glove box knowing her opportunistic parents will chomp away at them?

Is she set to inherit a fortune if you die?

ThighsRelief · 19/07/2019 09:34

I do eat things in the hopes they are sweets. So far they have been.

HappyLoneParentDay · 19/07/2019 09:36

That's Crack Cocaine

GabsAlot · 19/07/2019 09:47

CBD isnt illegal though it has no thc in it the stuff that makes you high Ben so theres no point "going off on one at your adult children

Hidingwhoiam · 19/07/2019 09:58

I think the short time at A&E was because dh was feeling better by that point and because they had by that point identified it was cannabis (or cbd it's not clear).

Except him feeling very unwell enough to be taken to a&e is quite unusual, if they are CBD.

He either took a fuck ton. Or its unrelated. Either way, its unusual to so poorly so if they didnt at least keep some one who is unwell, after taking drugs with unknown quantities in, they didnt act appropriately at all.

Knittedjimmychoos · 19/07/2019 10:06

Poor op.

And what a great thread anyway.
It's been very entertaining it's a classic.
Is there a husband ingesting dubious materials in sub section in classics?

taylorowmu · 19/07/2019 10:15

I love how this post tries to use the identification as a reason for fast A&E time but the ends by saying it's not clear what it was Grin

WTFthatsweird · 19/07/2019 10:24

just popped in to say that actually, MDMA tastes delicious.

Only someone who has never tasted MDMA would say that.
