Butlins ID

Help me. Worried now. We're going to Butlins Skegness in a week. I've just realised our only ID is passports which are not in date for DS and DH. DS and DD have birth certificates though...mine is in date as I changed mine when me and DH married.

Do we need to take for ID as I can't remember from last year!!! I thought we just took the booking confirmation etc but could be wrong. :/ worried now...

We have never needed ID for butlins, just the confirmation email.

Hollanda40 · 18/07/2019 15:07

Ah phew. I worry myself into a frenzy. Also money wise we have £500ish for 4 nights/3 proper days and 4 of us. Can't rexall if this will be enough to have a great time!! We want to go to Fantasy Island or Pleasure Beach and maybe do more than last year...more after dinner shows etc but not eat out EVERY lunch but just evening meals. We thought about a dining plan but they work out £75 each day for 4 of us and that seems steep...usually an evening meal for 4 of us is between £20-£30 in what's essentially a pub/restaurant type place rather than a posh restaurant.

DH said I'm a worry wart and stop it.

Been to Butlin's 5 times. Never taken - not been asked for - ID.

QuestionableMouse · 18/07/2019 15:46

I've done Haven for the last fre years and they've only ever asked for my name, no ID required. Same at every hotel I've stayed at.

MauisHouseOnMaui · 18/07/2019 16:08

We've never been asked for ID.

Food prices depend on where you're eating and what you order, the Butlins app has food menus on it for their various venues along with prices.

RedTideBlues · 18/07/2019 17:19

You can use an out of date passport for ID purposes. It just has to be indate for travel.

Chickenish · 18/07/2019 17:30

No, it doesn’t have to be in date at all. Just have your name and your photo. I checked whilst in a panic once.

Soubriquet · 18/07/2019 17:35

Nope

I’ve done butlins holiday twice and a day visit two weeks ago

Never needed ID

NoBaggyPants · 18/07/2019 17:41

You don't need ID.

You can stock up for breakfast, snacks etc in Tesco or Morrisons in Skegness. They're near the train station so accessible if you're driving or on the train.

Hollanda40 · 18/07/2019 18:33

Yeah we're stocking up on food etc for lunch. Breakfast can be a big buffet one the day we go to main Skegness. The rest of the time we can eat indoors and maybe grab a bite in Skegness for lunch. Excited now!! ☺ thanks guys!

Outdated passport is fine as ID. Maybe just carry the main payer ID if you want reassurance.

I used to do online shop to be delivered on that first day when we go on self catering. Making sure you include the snacks and drinks, saved us a fortune. Are you going Gold apartments, if not don't forget to order soap, wash-up liquid etc.

Enjoy

Mummy195 · 18/07/2019 18:40

to be delivered to Butlins I mean.

Hollanda40 · 18/07/2019 18:50

Ooh that's a good idea!!!!
