I love looking ar all the 'show me your kids rooms/living rooms' etc threads on here for house inspiration. I know I can look on instagram but those houses are too perfect.

So my cheeky request is if you have nice toy storage in your living room I'd love to see a pic to see how its all organised Smile

Expecting DC2 in the new year and trying to figure out how best to fit in all the extra stuff. (DS has a box room and DC2 will be in with us for everything will end up in the living room)

Can't help but I am following. Have a 1 year old and lots of messy toys.

Can't take a picture as I'm not at home. I have a kallax unit from ikea - he one that fits two boxes fixed to the wall and store toys in there. Her books are on the top of it and I then have storage boxes underneath for other toys.

DC play in the bedroom with toys because I can't stand the sight of plastic crap in my lounge, but I do have 2 small ottoman boxes under a side unit in the lounge for whenever visitors have kids round. IMO you need whatever kind of storage that hides the crap Grin no shelves or units, only boxes and drawers!

I feel a trip to ikea coming on :)

I will probably do what everyone else does and stick a giant kallax unit in a corner somewhere.

Mine had huge aluminium steamer trunks that had been used to carry band equipment as well as shelving.

Kallax all the way. We use it to ‘split’ our open plan downstairs. We’ve also loved that it has evolved...the 9L Really Useful boxes that now contain an astonishing amount of Lego fit nicely into them.

Ikea Trofast. I got mine on Gumtree and Shpock they seem to go up all the time.

We have an IKEA unit (the name escapes me at the moment!) with 16 spaces. Coloured fabric boxes in 12 of them, 4 without boxes for storing games, books etc in, and space on top for Lego houses etc.
