Iron Ferritin levels - what is considered normal?

My nephew has low iron ferritin levels apparently he is 2 years old.

He is a fantastic eater - always has been he isnt fussy at all. He isnt a great meat eater but eats plenty of eggs, cereal, bread, green vegs , juice etc. so we're really surprised at this.

Is there anything else that could be causing this?

He isnt ill just had a blood test as part of something else and it was flagged up that levels were low and he needed supplemements.

Ive just read this - so not sure why they've flagged it up as his levels are showing 16

Normal - 7 to 140 ng/mL for children 6 months to 15 years

You’ve seen what the range is, his is low but they’d have flagged it as worrying if they’d thought it was so I wouldn’t worry.

Mine is 9, I’ve tried a lot of iron supplements to increase it but eventually the GP said nothing made a difference and I have no ill effects.
