Everything on TV is tosh - can you recommend some fab box sets/series?

I love thrillers/drama/comedy.

I go away with work regularly (work alone too) and find most hotel terrestrial tv boring

I don’t watch soaps etc.

Recently I have watched and loved

Counterpart
Killing Eve
Dead to Me
Russian Doll
Line of Duty

Looking for stuff to download or stream

Thank you for reading

PS there’s lots of stuff I have seen or started and not liked - I get impatient and don’t want to waste time with predictable stuff 😊

IWantMyHatBack · 17/07/2019 23:52

Oh, and Dexter

I really hate predictable stuff too. I'm far too good at working out plot lines and it just gets boring (hence my suggestions - nothing predictable aboit them)

I don’t watch telly really, no attention span apparently.
A couple of months ago I had a vomiting big and was bedridden, couldn’t read on my phone or kindle at all so switched Netflix on the tv and found a riveting documentary called The Staircase following the story of an American author who was accused of beating his wife to death/pushing her down the stairs. The documentary is long, maybe 14 hour long episodes and is filmed predominantly with him in his family home with his children/stepchildren as he follows the legal system with his defence lawyers by his side. In the 5 episodes I watched there were some fascinating twists and turns. I never got to finish it because I recovered and haven’t really turned on the telly since but I often think about watching the rest of it - before sighing thinking of the commitment it takes to watch boxsets Grin
Definitely worth a watch (and you can let me know how it ended up - i read about it in the end Grin ).

The Good Wife

WeeM · 18/07/2019 00:18

Just finished when they see us which was really good. Also love Stranger Things.
There’s also a series called Dirty Money which I found interesting-each episode is about a different thing so doesn’t require too much commitment or concentration!

ScratchyMap · 18/07/2019 00:26

Have you seen Fleabag? It’s a comedy by the writer of Killing Eve and is very good!

ScratchyMap · 18/07/2019 00:27

Oh and I agree with the PP who suggested The Staircase

BigTubOfPringles · 18/07/2019 08:10

Breaking Bad (though you've probably already seen it!)
Six Feet Under (from the 00s but very good)
Orange Is The New Black

WhatTheAbsoluteFuck · 18/07/2019 09:24

Good Girls
The Good Wife
The Good Fight
Luther

georgedawes · 18/07/2019 09:34

I'm very late to Fleabag but it's brilliant!
