Thick question about washing your car

NeverGotMyPuppy · 16/07/2019 14:54

I cant wash my car at home because the damn hose wont reach to my front garden (I will just get another one at some point!)

I've never found the drive thru washes particularly effective and we have building work going on next door so the car is filthy.
If I take it to a garage that has a hose etc can I take a sponge and shampoo or is the idea to just give it a quick hose?

Do you have a garage near you that has a hand wash (bit like a power wash) set up ? That shampoos as well as rinses. We have one at our Tesco superstore like that.

Depends.. you get ones where it's a power hose, but it also has buttons on it where you can change it so that it turns to foam and soap, and then you can flick it back over to the hose. Those are at most of the petrol station ones.

People may double take at you if you take your sponge and shampoo, as I haven't seen anyone doing this but I think it's purely because there is the ones that have the facilities to wash it there

Get a bucket and a sponge and wash the car then rinse with water and dry. Easy. That’s what we do

Sorry @mcgirl, we basically are speaking about the same thing and you explained it better lol

NeverGotMyPuppy · 16/07/2019 15:04

@Dodie66 the car is filthy, by the time i have lugged a bucket round it will take me hours.
@MGgirl I have never noticed these! I'll have a look online and see if I can find my nearest one. Would be so much easier if I can just go tonight once baby is asleep (DH will be in the house, clearly!)

I hate having a dirty car, it really affects my mood.
