Need quick advice... Should I take DS back to doctors or A&E?

DS19 woke up yesterday morning with one side of his face swollen, took him straight to doctors who prescribed a 10 day course of 100mg Doxycycline capsules. This morning he's woken up and it's swollen even more, his right eye is so puffy it's barely open. Should I take him back to doctors, A&E or ride out the course?

Hope your DS is OK

Wonder if it's dental. That said, some dentists in my area are seeing people with mumps that's been mistaken for wisdom teeth swelling. Vaccination rates not what they should be.

How is your DS?
I know you don't owe us an update but we'd appreciate one!

Sorry been a busy few days with DC and end of school year activities and awards, I also came down with a stomach bug so not been great but getting better now.

After DS had xrays, the doctor said he had an abscess, massive hole in his tooth and infection, he was surprised DS wasn't in pain and gave him more tablets as he said the ones the gp gave him him were in his opinion 8th down on the list and he needed better ones.
He advised getting an emergency dentist appointment, which we did but dentist said the abscess was too big and hard to get to the tooth properly so he has appointment next week.
The swelling is going down and his vision is clear again thankfully so he's back to work today. Thanks for all the replies Smile

Glad you are at A&E - I am now super cautious about these things as DS has had cellulitis of the eye previously.
