I go there for cat food. And kwenchy cup drinks. And big bottles of cola and Setting lotion for my Mum. What do you like from B&M?

They often have bargains in the garden section miracle gro lawn feed etc. They are also good for wax melts if you use them.

JennyCarrots · 15/07/2019 17:45

Mrsjayy either you've been lucky or I've been unfortunate! Three times I've bought furniture from B&M and each time I've had to return it. One item had missing parts, the next had been returned by someone else and re-sold, the dowels were broken in the holes. Then I bought a mirror that was meant to have two fixings at the back but one was missing. Needless to say, I don't buy furniture there now!

Twistables are crayons Grin. Apparently my youngest needs a hundred million of them in order to draw the perfect unicorn!!

wineandsunshine · 15/07/2019 17:49

Zoflora...chocolate...candles!!!

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 15/07/2019 18:03

Oh Zoflora! I miss it very much but now I have a cat😿 That linen scented one!

Bright blue and orange is a horrible colour combination though.

Eaudear · 15/07/2019 18:16

Dishwasher tablets, washing powder/tablets, Nicky loo roll (not the softest but soooo cheap!), kitchen roll, cleaning stuff if I need it.

Do not start filling your trolley with shitey sweets and Crisps from there, its totally pointless.

Fatted · 15/07/2019 18:16

Mayflower Chinese sauces
Skinny Whip chocolate bars

Other than that we just buy the usual stuff that's cheaper like tins, tea and coffee etc.

UnapologeticallyUnsociable · 15/07/2019 18:19

I was in B&M on Saturday (I'm a regular 😂) and they had cheese savouries 👍🏼 I spend a fortune on things that I don't necessarily need but I WANT IT ALL! Cleaning products, scent boosters, cat food, sweets, candles, kitchen and bathroom accessories, funky mugs, steam cleaner, curtain rail, fuses, light bulbs, toilet roll, toiletries... you name it. You can't go wrong in B&M, something for everyone 👌 x

3boysandabump · 15/07/2019 20:29

We are mint sauce addicts in this house and I always buy the massive bottles from there.

I have the B&M app on my phone. It has a barcode scanner on it and sometimes If you scan things they are way cheaper than the tag on the shelf says. I got a king size bedding set for £1. A mirror that was supposed to be £20+ for £4 neither of which I would have known about without the app.

Grotesque · 16/07/2019 01:18

I went tonight and got some Godiva milk chocolate (90g for 79p! It's £2 on ocado) and a lovely, healthy, large pothos for £7.99!

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 16/07/2019 02:14

Am interested in the Mayflower sauces. And the Godiva chocolate, that would be nice for Christmas stockings. My Mum enjoyed the Bassetts liquorice novelties last year. I agree about not loading up one’s trolley with junk food though, that is a bad trap to fall in to.

Now if you had asked about Home Bargains... we avoid B&M as it is a poor substitute to the greatness that is HB ! Grin

isitwhatitis · 16/07/2019 03:52

Annoyingly they don't sell bike locks.
Our local is like a 1970s East German store with dingy lighting and dusty half empty shelves.

donutrehomer · 16/07/2019 04:22

Ironing water, last week it was 60 pence a bottle. I do a lot of ironing, so I stocked up.

Dishwasher tablets, they had Finish tablets 100 packet for £8 last week.

Huge boxes of Bold, the 100 washes size, again were £8, only a saving of two pounds. I got two of those.

Fairy liquid is normally half the price of Asda, but ive got a load of that already.

Beldray range is well priced at the moment.

Odd customer behaviour in there though. My branch attracts a lot of people with axes to grind. Sometimes with staff, but mostly with their partners or children. It all has to be done as loudly as possible, a high level of shrill shouting with intimate personal details being shouted across one aisle to another. All done whilst looking at other customers to gauge a reaction and somehow gain attention or sympathy. It makes me feel really uncomfortable.

My branch has a sort of one way system for the first two or the aisles, sometimes an argument can block the aisle, or a family will stand totally blocking the aisle arguing. Its totally bizarre behaviour.

It's that bad their Xmas advert could to be voiced by David Attenborough.

So I tend to treat a visit to B&M a bit like going on the London Underground, I don't look anyone in the eye and I get out as quick as I can

isitwhatitis · 16/07/2019 04:24

I thought it was somebody sounding like David Attenborough ? They had the sound a like playing in the store the other day, I couldn't get out quick enough

WinkysTeatowel · 16/07/2019 04:36

Chicken in white sauce. It’s a bugger to find anywhere else.

fantasmasgoria1 · 16/07/2019 06:15

I get all sorts from there. Cooking sauces, coffee sachets, pet stuff, nail polish, some toiletries etc etc. I like home bargains too!

sourgrapes1 · 16/07/2019 06:22

If you have carpets then I suggest this brush! It's amazing and better then any Hoover I have at getting mine and the cats hair up!

I’m off to B&M this evening. What are your recommendations please?
FabulouslyFab · 16/07/2019 06:25

Solar lights and garden bits n pieces. If the lights are faulty they don’t mind exchanging them - tho I have seen them put the faulty bits back on the shelves!!! 🤦‍♀️

Mrsjayy · 16/07/2019 09:36

My left home Dd loves a home bargains i tag along sometimes but I am a bit meh about it !

miaCara · 16/07/2019 11:04

We loved B&M when it first opened. A huge shop filled with random brands and strange stuff to try. They used to have tins of soup etc for 10p and odd things on every shelf so you had to stop and look. You could easily find a bargain .
But now its just another home store. Some good things but as PP said you have to be careful. The brands they have chosen as main/sole suppliers arent that good for the money. Better off with Wilko I find .
I still go in but avoid the brands I know are not worth the money and go straight past several aisles as there will be nothing there to attract me.

MrsTommyBanks · 16/07/2019 11:04

I get all my wild bird food / fatballs / mealworms in B&M.

Olajs · 16/07/2019 11:22

Rhubarb and custard flavoured cider. OMG it’s so nice. It tastes just like the sweets.

BeyondDangerousTshirts · 16/07/2019 11:27

Along with the mayflower curry and chineses, they have a southern fried gravy. It is lush - just like kfc gravy. Bit too addictive though Grin
