I need some new ideas and inspiration. What are your best Aldi items you've found recently? Food-wise.

The white chocolate-moser Roth, it's 5 little bars in one-amazing!

DogbertDogglesworth · 15/07/2019 17:04

Where to start?
The steaks are smashing. Tender and tasty.
Their chocolate is more'ish
Raspberry sorbet and their brand of magnum....see chocolate above.
Pink gins, all of them, but in particular the Parma violet.
The spiced rum.
Their ready to eat sliced salmon, delicious with salad and a few of their prawns.
Pressed Apple juice, delicious.

isseywithcats · 15/07/2019 17:13

the curry sauces in jars with the spice pots on top are ace especially the butter chicken one and the dopiaza

TheRedBarrows · 15/07/2019 17:16

Lemon curd: really lemony.

Avoid: their pretend-premium ice cream in the 500ml tubs: nasty, cheap and sickly.

BedraggledBlitz · 15/07/2019 17:20

I've been enjoying their frozen calamari. I eat it with salad.

doggydramas · 15/07/2019 17:21

The honey and ginger goats cheese is incredible.
As are the little chocolate bars by the till. The coconut and sea salt is the best.

SoupDragon · 15/07/2019 17:23

They have "cigarette packet" type boxes of sugar free sweets by the tills - the creamy butterscotch ones are lovely.

Shockers · 15/07/2019 17:29

I like the Mediterranean wraps, the organic Toro red wine, the organic Prosecco, and the frozen vegetable parcels- in all combinations.

I find the amount of plastic on the fruit and veg really disappointing though, so I go elsewhere for that.

Tillypea · 15/07/2019 17:35

The stir-in roasted pepper or tomato and mascarpone sauces are really nice and also the jar curry sauces with spice pots on the top!

Aldi version pringles
Black pepper savoury crackers

fishonabicycle · 15/07/2019 17:43

Interesting!

cricketmum84 · 15/07/2019 17:48

Groovy bars
Cucumber make up cleansing wipes
Rum and raisin chocolate bar
Lemon hummous with sunflower seeds on top
The little graze style protein flapjacks
Alllllll the gin

Shockers · 15/07/2019 22:53

Does anyone else wonder whether threads like these are started by Aldi executives for advertising purposes?

If so, it’s clearly a very effective strategy!

EileenAlanna · 16/07/2019 04:11

I love their sherry, Cromwell's £4.49, & their Ballycastle Irish Country Cream £3.75 & Peach Schnapps £4.39. They have some lovely wines too.

newmomof1 · 16/07/2019 04:24

We've only very recently started buying anything in Aldi (because their nappies are fab!) so don't have much to offer. But we LOVE the chicken tikka meal kit. And with 2 naan breads for 45p and microwave rice at less than 50p, you can't go wrong.

Bluesheep8 · 16/07/2019 05:49

Naked fish cakes
Chicken burgers
0% fat Greek yogurt
All fruit, veg and salad
Salad dressings
Reduced fat cheddar

Russell19 · 16/07/2019 07:50

They do these amazing half chocolate coated cookies, they are amazing.

And the chocolate orange 'pringles' in a tube. (Not what they are called but only way to describe them)

Pinktinker · 16/07/2019 08:33

Stuffed mushrooms
Belgian buns
Their almond chocolate
White bloomer bread

Yeah, all the healthy stuff Wink.

SoupDragon · 16/07/2019 08:52

Their bake-at-home sourdough half baguettes are good. I haven't tried their other bake-at-homebread items though.

TheRedBarrows · 16/07/2019 09:27

I withdraw my recommendation for Lemon Curd. I just bought a new jar and it has a less lemony taste and a rather unpleasant musty undernote.

I guess the lemons they use change.

30not13 · 16/07/2019 09:51

Fake Pringles - better than the real thing
50/50 bread - ditto
Packets of dried risotto mix
Sweet potato burgers in the chiller

Theoldwoman · 16/07/2019 11:22

Greek Yoghurt
Washing Powder
Napisan
Rice cakes with chocolate coating
Brioche buns
Ice Cream
Hot Chocolate
Cheeses

Yokohamajojo · 16/07/2019 11:24

Well we just bought a tortilla warmer yesterday and my life now feels complete Smile

coffeeaddiction · 16/07/2019 11:29

The fake mackies icecream is amazing and we love the mini spring rolls too

marshmallowkittycat · 16/07/2019 11:55

The g and t in cans. Not the ordinary ones but the flavoured ones. Plum and pink grapefruit, and traditional gin with berries. There's a ginger one too but I didn't like that.

hellsbellsmelons · 16/07/2019 11:59

Wow - they do halloumi fries!!!???
I must shop in Aldi more.
I went for the first time at the weekend for the BBQ range which was really good.
Burgers with cheese were lovely!
