My twins were nine Yesterday and we gave them each a kindle fire for their birthday. We weren’t planning to let them have their own electronic devises until they started high school (as the local school offers Chrome books and I would want them to have a phone as they will be walking to and from school thereself). My step-daughter got a phone when she was 11 and a tablet when she was 12 but half of the price for her tablet came out of pocket money and Christmas money.However, we gave the girls a tablet for their birthday as they often come home from brownies and school saying their friends have iPads and phones and I originally just explained we wanted them to be older and more responsible but after one of them came out and said “but I’m way more responsible than people in my class who always get in trouble” I no longer had a reason as to why they can’t have one and decided to get them one.
Anyway, I’m rambling a bit but when would you first give kids tablets and/or phones.
