I'm guessing the person who named this street wasn't a Mumsnetter....

On This site you can put in your postcode and it tells you about amusing place names close to you. Mine include Shaftenhoe End, Bummers Hill, Minges and Feltwell.

TheDuchessOfNorkPark · 19/08/2007 19:57

ROFL @ Attila!

I used to live near Nork Park and one of the local comps was also called Nork Park (they always used to provide the ball boys & girls for Wimbledon), the school is now sadly, called something boring.

And it's not that far from the wonderfully named Nonsuch Park & Nonsuch Palace.

TheDuchessOfNorkPark · 19/08/2007 19:59

melpomene - according to your marvellously childish link I live near a Pratts Bottom, a Loose Bottom , White Knobs Way and Devils Dyke.

Mincing Lane
White Knobs Way
Herbert's Hole
Tyttenhanger
Titsey Park
Knob Hill
Pishill

Furball · 20/08/2007 07:00

another funny road (apart from minge lane) is Horney Old Road. Imagine asking a taxidriver to go there!

totaleclipse · 20/08/2007 08:52

There is a Hornyold Road in my town

Furball · 20/08/2007 10:31

Does it begin with M? as it often pops into convos at the worcestershire meet

AttilaTheMum · 20/08/2007 10:37

Just come back after visiting my sister in Bath to find this thread has been revived!

To answer Cod's question of rather a long time ago, I don't live there, but we (used to) pass it on the way to MIL's too. She used to live in Kington, which is quite close, but I only spotted the road on the way back from our last trip there - she moved three days later, so it was my last chance to get a picture.

My father lives near Lickey End, always makes me PSML as we drive past on the way to his house.

McEdam · 24/08/2007 23:26

Wasn't there a road in the City of London in ye olden days called Gropecunte Lane? Wonder when they changed the name. Or demolished it.
