Somewhere incredibly cheap to stay within an hour of Alton Towers?

So I have relented and booked 2 days Alton Towers staying in the new pods. Ideally I would like to travel down the evening of the first dy so we can be there for opening time without having to get up ridiculously early. Anywhere within about an hours drive would be fine, preferable to the North as this will be where we are coming from. Any ideas, booking.com is not finding me anything cheap!

You need the travelodge in Rugeley

Derby or Stoke are near. Some cheap travel lodges there

There are probably some budget hotels in Leek - Travelodge or Premier Inn type places.

air b and b. lovely couple in uttoxeter (michelle and martin) do it. double room £40.

We combined with Premier Inn Matlock

Premier inn leek or travelodge Ashbourne are nearest chain hotels. Both about 15-20 mins drive from Alton Towers.

Premier inn- 2 free kids breakfasts with every one adults

You need to check out the blacksmith Arms in alton it is about 30 minutes away from alton towers if there is traffic

There are some very very cheap camp sites nearby

Blacksmith arms is very close, as is the Alton Bridge Hotel.
Uttoxeter premier inn is used a lot for Alton Towers, there's also a couple of hotels in Uttoxeter, not sure of prices.
