Small Trees/Shrubs in pots for Decking

Looking for some tips on this one.

I want some hard to kill small trees/shrubs that can be left fairly to their own devices for decking area...olive/bay trees that sort of thing. Area in question doesn't get too hot/not really in direct sunshine.

Anyone?

Red Robin - Photinia Fraseri
Due to its vigorous growth this evergreen shrub is often used for hedging, though it serves just as well being grown in a container. The plant possesses white flowers and glossy green foliage, though it is best recognised by the deep red of its new growth.

Thanks Soola, I'm also looking for some hedging for front garden which doesn't have deep roots and doesn't need cutting back every other week, so I will google later.
