Please talk me through renewing a passport online

It's very easy. You just fill out the form online then send in your old passport. The best thing to do is probably just to go through the steps online without submitting your application.

Follow it through, and ta da!

It's surprisingly quick and easy, and when I did it, I got my new passport within a week.

I done mine and my H and it's very easy I had to redo my photo. You can get your passport approved photo taken ( for me the local timson key cutting shop) send to you and you forward that on. Really it's very easy and I'm rubbish with this sort of thing. At the end you get a code and you use that when you post your old passport you can also check online the process. It's very easy

Easy peasy. Takes a few minutes. Hardest bit was taking your own photo, but even then less hassle than walking to a photo booth and finding the right change.

There's nothing to talk through, you just fill in the most basic of personal details, send back your old passport, and upload a photo. Oh and part with £75.50.

Even if you do need to go to a photo booth, rather than take a photo at home, you get a code now on the print which you send instead, no posting of a hard copy photo.

I've just done mine, had one self taken photo rejected and had to send another, but the whole thing took less than two weeks, and this is supposed to be the busiest time of year.

I didn’t even have to upload a photo, they just used the one that’s on my driving licence. I paid extra to have my passport sent back to me by recorded delivery, and I sent my old one the same way.

Allow enough time as they are very busy at this time of year. They will add on the time left on your old passport, so there’s no advantage to waiting until the last minute.

I did the photo upload thing too and even so, it was dead straightforward and took you through it step by step with no issues.
