Does Sing Street count even though it's Irish? It's great!

dun1urkin · 13/07/2019 19:49

The synchronised swimming one, hang on will find the name.

Has to be British?

Ivegotthree · 13/07/2019 19:51

Oh yes I've got another good one - Eddie the Eagle! It's fun and cheering.

Fleetheart · 13/07/2019 20:00

I know you said Netflix but Pride is currently on bbc iPlayer. Possibly not 100% feel good but worth a look.

cushioncovers · 13/07/2019 20:12

Just watched 'Upside' with Brian Cranston. American but good.

FantailsFly · 13/07/2019 20:14

I second Pride. Heartwarming.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 13/07/2019 20:25

Sing Street is excellent although there's on fairly major revelation by a character that's just glossed over which I found uncomfortable. The Young Offenders is absolutely brilliant (also irish).

SilverySurfer · 13/07/2019 20:27

How about Wonder - starring Owen Wilson and Julia Roberts. It's a feelgood film.

harriers · 13/07/2019 21:11

Watching Swimming with Men now - it's fab! Just what I need tonight.

Amara123 · 13/07/2019 21:28

American suggestion- Always be my maybe. Very funny and sweet and Keanu Reeves is in it.

Fleetheart · 14/07/2019 08:53

Thank you all! Great suggestions 🙂

I watched Man Up with Simon Pegg last night which was much better than I’d expected; funny, heart warming and great acting!

Fleetheart · 14/07/2019 09:01

@goodgirlsguide, caught some of that last night as well; really enjoyed it. Watched Sing Street and enjoyed that too. Love a good Irish film 😊

Death at a funeral

LokiLocks · 14/07/2019 10:55

Oh The Fundamentals of Caring is a beautiful Netflix original film. It's quirky funny and the plot is really good. It's set in America but the main characters are British with the exception of Paul Rudd. Really enjoyed it.

IWantMyHatBack · 14/07/2019 10:56

I was going to suggest Pride too. Watched it again last night. It's a fabulous film

IWantMyHatBack · 14/07/2019 10:57

Fundamentals of Caring is ace too

gossipgirlxoxo · 14/07/2019 11:00

About Time & another vote for The Fundamentals of Caring.

seventy5days · 14/07/2019 20:10

Thank you for those suggestions, I'm just settling down to watch Swimming with Men
