Different job options

I'm looking for a new role. 2 are at second interview and 1 is just starting but it's for an ex colleague who I really like.
1 is maternity cover, seem like a nice firm
1 is permanent, yet to meet the team as only had a phone interview
1 is for ex colleague, much longer commute but money is the best.

Considering my health (bad heart, low blood pressure) and I have young children. The closest to work but not highest pay makes most sense? Money is still more than I'm on at the moment.
What haven't I considered?

Depends a bit on what the difference in commute is. The fact you like the ex-colleague and know you can work together well is a real positive, BUT I wouldn't want a horrendous commute at any time, but particularly when I had young dc. Unless the money is hugely more, I presume some of that will go in longer childcare hours and actual cost of commute, too.

I wouldn't leave a permanent role for a temporary one, so I'd rule out job one.

Flexibility. A longer commute is a pain but could work better into the longer term if it's combined with more ability to WFH or adjust your hours round school meetings etc, without having to take annual leave. Also being able to choose your own annual leave dates rather than having to fit round colleagues' leave is good.

Plus the small matter of the actual work, progression etc.

Thanks
How do i find out how flexible a role is. They all say the company has a flexible policy but until you get their you don't know the culture and situation. Dh works part time so dc won't need to be in childcare longer but it does limit his options and time if I'm not home until gone seven every night. Also I'll see less of dc as I'll be out of the house if I'm in London.
I spoke to dh and he says attend all interviews and see what you are offered. I'm leaving my job anyway so I need something.

"The role advertiement and/or your website mention that the company operates a flexible policy. Could you tell me more about that please?"

Demonstrate that you have read up about the company if you can.
