What can ds5 listen to music on that isn’t a tablet?

I don’t want to give him his own tablet, but he’s asked for headphones for his birthday to listen to music. In the olden days a CD player would’ve been perfect. Do MP3 players still exist, and would a 5 year old be able to operate one without great reading ability? Or is there another option?

Yes MP3 players still exist and most are very easy to operate.

Ipod? My nearly 4 year old has an ipad that she uses but she navigate music well because she remembers the pictures from the album covers.

Alternatively have you got an old phone ?

You can take the SIM out and still use WiFi and download music etc.

It's basically a Walkman plus Grin

Why not a cd player? An mp 3 player would be good too.

We bought our 5 and 2 year old a cd/karaoke player and they love it. They play amd sing along to disney cd's, the story cd's that come with books, and old now compilations. They have not quite started to enjoy my back catalogue of U2, Bon Jovi, Fatboy slim or the Cardigans yet!!!

More of an investment but we've gone for Sonos in our house so kids can have speakers their rooms. Cds etc are loaded on a nas drive and my spotify is linked to them. You can make playlists etc and play different things on different speakers. Dc use the iPad as the controller.

You can connect bluetooth headphones to a google home, I do believe...?

My kids each have a boombox and audio books for bedtime!

We got both dc cheap MP3 players from Argos for long journeys. They're great and dd5 can navigate the controls and ds11 can listen to music on it while using his iPhone for games. Dd has volume limited headphones (Disney ones) so she can't turn it up too loud.

We got the younger ones Clip Jams for podcasts audiobooks and music. No internet connection so all done from pc to player via the cable. Comes with headphones and you need audible for the books.
