Someone has just said to me on an e mail in a jokey way "god your shit" over a spelling mistake - I'm sure it is "god you're shit"

Before I go back with a pithy response I want to know I'm right Grin

Yes because it’s short for ‘you are’.

purplelass · 11/07/2019 12:52

Yep - you're is abbreviated 'you are' so you're right...

Unless they are describing something as being 'your shit' as in "that's your shit that needs to be sorted"

LoafofSellotape · 11/07/2019 12:53

You're= you are

SkydivingKittyCat · 11/07/2019 12:54

In addition, if we're really ripping them to grammatical shreds, God needs an uppercase G as it's a proper noun.

LoafofSellotape · 11/07/2019 12:55

SkydivingKittyCat is correct Grin

twitterbird · 11/07/2019 12:56

They have said god your shit as in me! Great this should have them cringing hahaha

Not this is your shit

God, you’re shit!

Willowkins · 11/07/2019 12:57

I would say it is:
God! You're s**t.
(Still can't bring myself to swear, even on MN) Smile
