Why is retraining so expensive?

I’m not even talking degrees or uni here. I’ve been looking at training in eyelash extensions and it’s about £400 for a one day course.

I know I’d probably make that money back in a few weeks of working as an eyelash technician but......wow! It’s a big initial outlay and I might not even be any good at it.

Sorry I’m just having a rant. I know it’s important to be properly trained for health and safety and insurance reasons but it’s so disheartening when you want to learn and there’s a financial barrier.

I hear you, op. We're expected to work until we're nearly 70 but how do you keep your skill set and qualifications relevant and in demand for 50+ years when training is so expensive!
