Help chest infection advice

tea6886 · 11/07/2019 11:37

I have what I think is a chest infection, I have asthma and heart condition, I have chest pain and am short of breath- my doctors couldn't see me, and I don't feel like I want to go up to a and e, any suggestions?

I also have asthma and would want to be seen in your shoes. My GPs have always been great when I stress that I have asthma and shortness of breath, I've always got an emergency appointment.

I'm not in a 111 area, would they be able to help?

If you really can't see your GP, then look and see if there are any walk in clinics etc in your area that will deal with this sort of thing. If not, then I think you're going to have to go to A&E. Especially if you don't already have antibiotics or steroids.

Thanks @MindyStClaire I have never had a chest infection before, but that what it feels like! Doctors don't have any appointments even urgent, so can't do that, I think our walk in, is part of a and e!

I know it's probably the last thing you feel like doing, but I do think you need to be seen so you may just need to go and sit. Hopefully the walk in will see you as that'll hopefully be quicker than A&E. I don't have 111 here, but are they open during the day? I'd ring them, they might be able to book an appointment even though you can't.
