Parking wars

Neighbour went out earlier vacating car parking space outside their house. I watched other neighbour opposite come out of their door, move their car off their drive way to park outside their house. Original neighbour now arrived home and struggling to fit car on driveway which already has a car on it. Other neighbours driveway is empty.

Other neighbour actually got off their sofa (I'm assuming) to move their car, no need, just a want to park outside their front door.

WTF. This has been happening for some time. Why do people do this?! Is it weird or am I missing something?

They've got nothing better to do, sad really

Is this regular?
If not, I’d assume they are expecting a visitor with restricted mobility or who will be wrangling a car seat or something.
I’d probably have done this in my old street for my mum as she is now.

Could it be that neighbour is parking in a way that makes it difficult for other neighbour to get on and off their drive and they've got a bit pissed off with it?

My old neighbours used to do this. Even more amusing for the fact both had drives behind their homes but fought over the bit in front of their houses. Each thought that the road outside the length of their properties belonged to them.
The best bit of karma was when one of them bought a brand new car and decided to partake in car shuffling on a very windy bins night. Next morning the front wing had a lovely big dent from the bin, which could have been avoided had they just used their drive.
