There was a police speed van in our village the Friday before last (28th June). I was probably doing around 33mph in a 30 limit. (I know, stupid, rushing and not thinkingBlush). Does anyone know how long it would take for a letter to come through? I've had a clean license for 23 years! But obviously will take it on the chin if I've been caught.

I think they have 14 days to send you a letter however that might not be strictly true.

I’m sat here waiting for one as well....speed limit changed from a 50 to a 40...all signs covered by vegetation was doing about 45 🤷‍♀️ Then finally spotted a sign too late.

I don’t know how long they actually take but I do know that if it’s over 2 weeks then it cannot be enforced.

If you were doing 33 then you will be fine

I had one recently (did a speed awareness course, that’s 4 hours of my life I’m not getting back)
The letter came 2 days after the event.
However, I think there is a tolerance of (forgive me if I’m wrong 10% + 3mph(?) so you would need to be doing 36 before getting flashed.

24 -48 hours.

You’ll probably have got away with it at 33. Our local police force only sends letters at 36 and over (I’ve just been involved in a local police/ community anti-speeding project).

OK thanks everyone, I'll watch the post for a few more days.
