Grandma me thinking of booking Sands Resort Cornwall in August..travelling alone..am I mad

I will be flying from Dublin and just fancy a few days in Cornwall, near beach and Newquay airport and saw this resort...I know there will be lots of families but would I be very out of place..just looking for advice/opinion or recommendations...my first post, I have lurked a long time. Many thanks in advance for any opinions.

If you're happy with your own company you'll be fine. AND it's easier to chat to people and make friends if you're on your own, anyway. Have fun

Sorry...really hoping for beach hotel or guesthouse, contemporary style about half hour taxidrive from Newquay airport. I have just seen Megavissey Bay Hotel?...on further thinking I am probably paying over what I need to in Sands as I definitely dont need any of the child facilities.I don't want to hire a car, I do like walking. Many thanks for any input.
