Any Outlook e-mail experts about?

This is a bit of a long shot, but I'm tearing my hair out over this. I wonder if anyone out there can help me with this problem.

All my work is fee based work and I have two outlook e-mail accounts associated with two organisations I work for. I need to access these accounts on a regular basis.

The problem is, if I have looked at one of the accounts recently (even the day before), when I try to log into the other, the first one pops up, even if I am entering the log in details of the other. I do not save either of the log-in details. Quite apart from the fact that the lack of security is shocking, there are times (like now) when I simply can't access the e-mail account I want.

Does this happen to anyone else, and can anyone suggest how I might sort this out please?

I’m assuming you are using the web version of office 365, so one or both of these might work.

  • download a different browser and use one for account A and use the other for Account B
  • if you login in incognito mode/in private browsing mode. You can then use this for Account A and normal mode for Account B

Think that should work.

Ok - thank you Zippey. That might work.

I have just managed to get into the mail account I wanted. I'll now try to get back into the other.

Thank you. I've happily switched from one account to the other now.
One less thing to stress about!

I have the phone app and I can log into 2 accounts, but that might be because I had 2 accounts from different academic institutions, but it might be worth checking.

What browser are you using ?

Firefox (my browser of ... well, not choice, but I use it) allows you to set up "container tabs" so that data from one container doesn't bleed into another. So you can be logged into two separate Outlook accounts at the same time.

Pretty certain Chrome has similar - it tends to vie with Firefox.

Personally I wouldn't use anything from Microsoft if you paid me. Which is fortunate, because right now no one is Grin.

Container tabs are a step up from incognito mode, as they do save information between sessions.
