Where does the birth certificate say for place of birth?

Didn’t want to derail the other BC thread!

I think it would be whatever you give (the nearest address). My dc were both born at home and the birth certificates give our home address. I suspect you’d have to come up with something, possibly the address of the airport where you land?

Yes my lot are home births too but if a taxi was driving along would it just be the street name? Or Gatwick airport if you were in a plane etc?

My friend gave birth in the back of an ambulance at the hospital and the child’s birth certificate says ‘car park of X hospital’. I guess it would be the street name if not in a building with an address.

My friend gave birthday in a supermarket car park in her own car and the birthday certificate named the supermarket cat park as place of birth.

I went to school with a girl who was born in a helicopter (rural area, hours to the nearest hospital), and her place of birth is the name of the mountain they were flying over.

My friend gave birth on a dual carriageway lay-by being transferred from a hospital with no space. The birth certificate says place of birth “road in transit between x and y hospital”

They thought my DD was going to born in an ambulance. I asked the question and they said it would say x road en route to y hospital.
