40th birthday food options

So, my 40th birthday party is fast approaching. I am stuck on what food to provide. I really don't want the usual buffet but am struggling with something a bit different. Help!!
So far I have considered loads of dominos pizzas, subway platter with crisps and cookies, chippy chips and baps for chip butties.
Timings 7.30 til 11.30 so most will have eaten before they come. Once the food leaves my fridge there is no cold storage so in August I think that needs to be considered too.
What would you want to eat. Any opinions on my ideas and any better ones very welcome.

If you are considering dominos could you look for a wood fired pizza oven. I was at a party recently where they had one (oven on a trailer came complete with two chefs) and it was hugely popular. Will obviously depend on numbers and budget though. Also been to an event where they hired a toasting man who did toasties for every one all night ( had a series of massive panini presses), that was really cool too.

Also, if you want to do it yourself cheese and crackers, grapes, olives, celery, pickled gherkins and onions, chutneys etc, look on Pinterest for some epic examples. Most of it would be fine out of the fridge and the stuffed that does need to be kept cool would go in a few large cool boxes.

A DIY taco bar: hard and soft shell tacos with a range of fillings and squeezy bottles of salsa, sour cream and guacamole.

I have just been to a 40th party where all the food was the initial of the person involved - would that work?!

We had my 40th party recently and did Middle Eastern food. Dips and flatbreads to start, lots of salads and two different tagines for main with cous cous. Didn’t have a birthday cake, had a birthday pavlova!

Would something like that work?

Timings 7.30 til 11.30 so most will have eaten before they come.

Dunno about that... part start st 7.30. Leave home 7. Eat at 6.30? Nah not many people will!

Whatever you’re serving send an email
Making it crystal clear so people can plan accordingly.

If you can afford it I second the idea of the pizza oven van- although you might struggle to get once at shirt notice.

Otherwise Middle Eastern feast would be great.
