Bleeding on the pill

DD19 has been taking Lucette for 12 months and has never had an issue. Since Sunday, she’s been bleeding ever so slightly- more like spotting even though it’s not her break week. She phoned 111 yesterday who told her to book a doctors appointment if it was still happening by Thursday but I’m a bit concerned as it’s not normal. I’ve advised she takes a test to be sure but she’s never missed a pill so I doubt she is pregnant and spotting (plus feels fine). Does anyone have any ideas as to what it might be?

I don’t know anything about that particular brand of pill but I was on cerazette for over 8 years. I could go a year or slightly longer with no bleeding whatsoever and then have some slight spotting like you described for a few days. Then nothing again for another year or so. The doctor said it was completely normal but do take your DD to get checked out of you/she is worried op.

Experienced this a few months ago. Docs weren’t too concerned about the bleeding but I was advised to stop taking the pill. Also took a pregnancy test to rule that out. On top of that the doctor booked me in for a blood test and swabs to rule out infection. Would recommend your dd does the same just to be sure. Is she experiencing any pain or cramping?

She feels absolutely fine, no pain/tiredness/sickness or anything. DD also suffers from re current UTI’s so I wondered if t was that but no infection has developed
