Hotel has been paid for already, £250 spending money. Staying near Canary Wharf but happy to travel about. Where would you go, what would you do, where would you eat?

What kind of things are you into? If I had a unplanned weekend, I'd mostly go to museums and exhibitions, but that wouldn't be for everyone. What kind of food do you and your DH like?

Dock lands Museum at Canary Wharf is one of my favourites. From the wharf, jump on a river boat to Tower Bridge and walk up to Borough Market (Open Thurs-Sat). Have lunch at Padella or Brindisi Tapas (lovely food reasonably priced but often queues) and then explore. Saturday night out in central London if you want to see the sights (Brasserie Zedel at Piccadilly great) or if you're trendy, Shoreditch/Brick Lane area (hipster territory but great Indian food choices) or Hackney. On Sunday get the boat or DLR to Greenwich - Observatory, Maritime museum (free), wonderful royal park, market and the river. Market has some great food stalls.

A lot of stuff in London is free or dirt cheap, including food. You could use the £250 towards a Michelin starred dinner if you have enough time to book it — a lot of London restaurants have deals of £80pp.

I’d do a morning in borough market with lunch at Padella. I haven’t been but I’m dying to go! Hopefully this weekend!
The sausage rolls from the Ginger Pig Butchers are amazing!
Then I’d probably book a brunch for the other morning/early afternoon.
Can you tell mine would revolve around food?!
