Back in the olden days we used to say eat less move more. Which still is good advice.

You could explore why: do you eat your feelings/live with pain/are you not in the habit of prioritising self/don't know.

??

I was you almost 1 year ago. I kick started the new me on 23rd July 2018. I’ve since lost 4 stone and I have 1 more to lose. More than just my body having changed, my head is happier now too. I gave myself zero excuses. I stopped saying I was too tired, too hot, too cold, too busy, too lazy, can’t be bothered and I got off my ass and worked out and ate right. It can be done, but it takes work

i cant run without feeling so breathless

Do you drive? Could you maybe walk to places more just to get more active before moving onto running?

EtonM3ss · 09/07/2019 08:42

I'm going on a run todayGrin

Can I ask what age you are OP? From mid 40s the weight just piled on me - it's partly hormonal changes. I am trying the 16:8 diet as I know my body needs fewer calories than it used to but I don't have headspace to meal plan, calorie count all the bloody time (ft work, DS has SN). So I kept starting and stopping dieting, all the time just feeling bad about myself. Just not eating breakfast is a whole lot simpler!

I'm not judging, I'm fat too Grin but how can you be bored but also say that time is an issue?

CoraPirbright · 09/07/2019 09:25

I have just read the Fast 800 by Dr Mosley and it doesnt seem too arduous. Am about to start. Wish me luck!

Grimbles · 09/07/2019 09:28

If you like to eat then check out a low carb way of eating to see if it suits. I've lost 4 stone on it without feeling like I'm on a diet.

EtonM3ss · 09/07/2019 10:30

im a single parent so can't go running when my child is here obvs. Im early 30s. Im still relatively slim next to some but feel fat and sluggish

YOU are not fat. You have fat.

You are not your fat, you are you.

By all means lose some fat but try not to call yourself names like lazy, it's really unhelpful for self esteem.

BurnedToast · 09/07/2019 11:06

PrisonBreak excuse me for jumping in. But how did you lose weight?

EtonM3ss · 09/07/2019 12:18

Lots of looking after kids- can't actually exercise but can eat. Prime times for me are him having his supper or once DS is in bed but DD (6mo) is still up.

I've just joined slimming world op, lost a stone do far and finding it easy.

unknownn · 09/07/2019 15:26

It is completely a psychological thing. If you want to lose the weight enough and you put in the correct steps to do so then you CAN. Make schedules and do not astray from them. I can only stick to things when I have a set plan written down, otherwise I sit there staring at my flabby self in the mirror patting my rolls better.

If your not interested in losing any weight, then you'll have to learn to love yourself how you are. Read empowering articles, blogs, videos online on how to embrace yourself and love yourself. Cause if you're not losing the weight and you're miserable, this is the only thing to do! :)

CakeNinja · 09/07/2019 16:07

3 miles in 25 minutes is way quicker than I ever run!! It rankles (in a good way!) that people can just get up and run for ages,
If I have a break it takes weeks of building back up to it for me to be able to run for a solid amount of time Grin
Well done for getting out, first step is always the hardest Flowers

Prisonbreak · 09/07/2019 22:23

I walked, hiked, climbed mountains (been ticking off Munro’s) jogged, ran, cycled, lifted weights and ensured I was in a caloric deficit
