40th birthday treat!

My son wants to celebrate his fortieth birthday by taking his toddler son[almost four] to a show in London in July. Any suggestions warmly welcomed! [The Lion King and Aladdin are deemed to be too scary for under sixes]. Matinee OR early evening alternatives possible- any toddler-friendly venues out there? Many thanks!

Tbh I don’t think any of the shows would be suitable for such a young child. I certainly wouldn’t be paying the price of a ticket when they are unlikely to sit still or enjoy it and a high probability you would have to leave early.
I would suggest that you look at something aimed at his age group such as The Gruffalo, the tiger that came to tea or we’re going on a bear hunt.

Thanks- but alas it's a birthday treat in July, in London- and the Gruffalo isn't on! 'we're going on a bear hunt' is only on in Southampton and the 'Tiger who came to tea' is on in Halifax! Thanks for the suggestions, though!

We took my 3 year old daughter and nephew and 4 year old niece to see the lion king last year they loved every second of it. We also took my daughter to see Aladdin earlier this year at 4. Although she wasn't keen on the "baddie" she loved the show and went dressed as jasmine. I'd recommend both of them

I think 4 is too young.

Have a look here www.timeout.com/london/theatre/childrens-theatre-in-london

It’s got a section for kids 0-4 years old
