Nits

My son has been scratching his head for about a month now. I have searched but can’t find anything. Surely if he had had them for a month by now there would be loads and I would be able to see them very obviously? He does have a lot of thick curly hair. He had chicken pox about 3 weeks ago and I put it down to that and him having chicken pox in his hair but the spots have all healed now..could it be nits?

Have you combed with a nit comb? You can't always see them in thick hair. What you may see are the eggs but you need to know what you're looking for (which I do, unfortunately 🙄) but a good wash, condition and going through with a nit comb is the best way to check.
