Son's instagrim

13 year old son has posted pic of him giving the middle finger (although it is blurred out) and looking menacing under a graffiti festooned railway arch. It's horrible. I hate it and want him to remove it. He's also post one of the friends in a similar style photo. They look like moronic thugs. Thoughts please.

Well you’re spot on with calling it Instagrim!

A chat about the impression we give through social media and how once pictures are online they’re out there forever would be the best bet. Would he be happy for that photo to resurface when he’s 30 and in a successful career?

But generally teenagers will do what they think is cool and it’s best to just let them unless they’re actually going to do themselves harm. An insta post isn’t worth falling out over.

If it’s not offensive / sexual and just makes him look thug-life then you should just remind him that this will be embarrassing in a few years.

Well he deleted the photos. I find the whole instagrim thing so difficult. He's stopped putting nice photos on there. All his friends list the same shit. Sad
