Is it harsh to split kids up while we go away?

We've not long got back from our family holiday but me and oh want to go somewhere cheap for a few nights probably Spain or somewhere. DD & DS are abit to much hard work for my mum alone so she suggested she had DS and DD go to OH parents.

I thought it's a bit harsh as I like to keep them together but OH thinks it's fine.

It's fine to split them up. What do you think.is going to happen?

BigSandyBalls2015 · 07/07/2019 13:11

Fine. It’ll be good for them to have a bit 1-1

How do they feel about it?

Absolutely fine and might well do them the world of good.

Lovely for them to spend time apart and get to know themselves within that context. Also forge long lasting loving relationship with the adults on a 1-2-1 basis. Bests time I had as a child was when I went to stay with my grandmother or aunt and uncle without my sisters. Such love and fun times!

Sounds fine to me, they might like being 'only child' for a while but how old are they and have you asked them?

icannotremember · 07/07/2019 13:58

Depends how they feel about it surely? You could have 500 replies telling you it's fine but if they were really unhappy about it, clearly it wouldn't be fine. Or a load of people could say it was a horrible idea and you are terrible to consider it, but if your kids were totally fine with it then obviously it wouldn't be bad at all.

So just ask them!
