It's a gorgeous day here and I want to make the most of being outdoors
6 of us eating this evening
Gas barbecue to play with
Fancy a change from burgers and sausages
Any ideas?

Mexican barbecue. Marinated chicken, steaks with chimichurri, corn, bean salad, all the dips, wraps. Mmmm

Spatchcock chicken or butterflied leg of lamb
Grilled aubergines and peppers drizzled with tahini sauce
Grill field mushrooms and top with garlic butter
Grill courgettes cut into big diagonal coins and toss with torn up buffalo mozzarella, mint, olive oil and plenty of sea salt
Grill peaches and eat with ice cream and more fresh mint

We’re planning a bbq today too but it’s not looking that bright and sunny yet (Yorkshire)

I’m doing

Burgers
Sausages
Satay chicken skewers & chilli coriander noodle salad (Jamie Oliver recipe)
Chicken tikka skewers
Haloomi skewers
Veggie sausages
Corn on the cob
Veg tabouleh
A couple of salads

I wanted to make some lamb seekh kebabs but couldn’t get lamb mince in the supermarket

We put a fish mix + creme fraise in a dish, cover with foil and either pop directly on the coals or on the BBQ.

Sides like sliced butternut squash, asparagus and roasted peppers are nice. We just season with a little oil, salt and pepper. They taste pretty delicious in a burger too. We have pretty simple tastes Grin

The kids love frankfurters on skewers. If you cross slice the ends and skewer at 90 degrees in the middle. The 'legs' curl and they look a bit like spiders! The kids sometimes cook them themselves on the BBQ depending on ages.

M&S have some great interesting bits on 3 for £10 at the mo.
Might be worth a trip.
