I was talking to my friend earlier who was telling me about her trip to Devon with her DCs over the summer. I said to her she should make sure they all got beach shoes as I stood on a weaver fish down there last year (not far from where she's going). She laughed and told me that I was a wimp and her children wouldn't wear the shoes anyway.

The pain was excruciating and shooting up my legs. I was struggling to walk and felt really light headed. The relief of getting my food in a bucket of hot water was amazing. Now I'm wondering if I'm just pathetic and/or have a low pain threshold.

So if you've stood on a weaver fish what is your memory of the pain?

My son once stood on a weaver fish at stud land beach in Dorset. It was really painful at the time. The lifeguards sorted him out with a bucket of hot water and that sorted it out - up to a point....... but he did keep saying over the next few weeks that he was still in pain from it.

I do have to say that we always wear water shoes now.

Eggys if he 'trusts' trainers to the point where you can persuade him to wear them, is it worth buying a pair of cheapo ones and having him wear those? Water shoes can be anything after all.
