Birthday outing, who pays?

Dc1 has been invited out to an activity, followed by dinner. Probably snacks and drinks while they're there. Just the two of the plus parent. Do I send money to cover the cost? Snack money? New to this and no idea!

We send money but usually the other parent pays.

I generally offer to, it’s generally declined.
Unless you have a very clued up chatty kid it’s useless just putting money in their bag, because it just comes back with them.
Ive had several parents say” oh he had money in his bag, jack why didn’t you say?” When 6 year old jacks focus has been rightly entirely on The activity .
Communicate with the parents .
